ANN ARBOR, MI — Vice President of Cuisine, Tom McCauley today announced the signing of rookie Kevin Mcguinness of very local Ann Arbor to a national letter of intent during the signing period in late-December. Kevin is the 2nd player to sign and represent the state of Michigan for this year's major championship.

"There are no excuses," says buddy Jon Marti. "There will not be jet lag, car lag, or complaining about the June heat index. He needs to make a strong commitment this spring to getting ready for the tournament. A practice round in April or May is almost certain."

Kevin and George Seidel will make just a 35 minute trip to Brooklyn/Jackson. Both gentlemen are expected to capitalize during Round 1 play when van and jet lag will most likely handicap the bulk of the tournament field.

Mcguinness opened the 2007 Virtual Tournament with 61 points. The round at The Links at Whitmore Lake included 5 pars and 6 bogeys. The 25-over par 96 was a good start to the season-long tournament.

"This should be interesting," says Mcguiness of the tournament. "I have always wondered what it would feel like to pack a suitcase and go on vacation 25 miles down the road. It might be a little early to be excited, but emotions should spill over in a couple of months."

Some of the Captains Club has been questioning whether the Kevin Mcguiness signing is a secret signing of the late veteran movie actor Jack Palance. "I wonder if he sleeps with his eyes open like Curly," says Captains Club member Tom McCauley. "The picture on the website suggests a rookie nickname of Curly could stick. We need to check for the rugged facial features and gravelly voice in June before slapping a nickname on him."

Palance was best known to modern movie audiences as both the characters of Curly and Duke in the two City Slickers movies.

The 2007 Carl Spackler Open Championship begins in 61 days. All remaining balances are due in 3 weeks. Transportation schedules can be updated using the Option Selector through May.
