TERRA ALTA, WV — ***UPDATE***

This year's KGB Cup will have a slight format change.  Holes 1-6 will remain A vs A and B vs B, Holes 7-12 will remain A vs B and B vs A, however, holes 13-18 will be 2 man scramble this year.  2 man scramble team handicaps have been established to determine on which holes teams will get strokes.

This year's KGB Cup has been the highly anticipated “Brother vs Brother” battle and for the first time in Cup history two Captains for each team were selected.  Team PGA will be managed by Kevin “B Dubs” Mullins and Donnie “Off White” White, while team LIV Golf will be skippered by Aaron “Whitey” White and Kurt “C Dubs” Mullins.  

After much back and forth about what type of format and teams should be created for this year’s event, the PGA vs LIV rivalry was chosen.  When asked about the Cup formatting process, Off White had this to say, “It was good, but not as good as the best NBA player of all time....Lebron James!!  I dare you to defend Jordan in this deba....what?  The KGB Cup?  Oh, sorry, yes...the format is good this year.”

Thanks for that enlightening take Off White, back to this year’s KGB Cup format.  The PGA team will be wearing the White Golfapalooza Polos from GXXV and LIV Golf will be wearing the Maroon striped Golfapalooza Polos from GXXIII.  To stay true to the PGA and LIV styles, each team will dress appropriately which means PGA players are mandated to wear LONG PANTS and the LIV players can wear whatever they want (which basically means golf shorts).

Whitey and C Dubs were asked about this mandatory LONG PANTS for the PGA team and gave these responses; “We were thinking of ways to make it more interesting and more like what we see on TV every week, so even though it may be warm, it’s not our team, we don’t give a shit!” says C Dubs.  Two-time KGB Cup captain Whitey (1-0-0) had this to say about the situation, “I like the LONG PANTS addition to the PGA team, and I was really pushing that they NOT be allowed to use carts like the PGA, but the Founding Fathers were really tentative due to the risks of several heart attacks and possibility of a 7-hour round.”

Finally, B Dubs was asked his thoughts on this year’s event.  I feel like my evil-twin brother and Whitey did everything they could do to screw us, but I really like the team that we drafted.  They really wanted Winthorp on their team to make it more like the rich elites on the LIV tour but at last, he withdrew from Wednesday’s round.  I think financially we are on even ground and talent-wise, we are posed to shock the world!”

This year’s event will kickoff on Wednesday September 11 at the hallowed grounds of Alpine Lake Resort in Terra Alta, WV.  Here are the results of KGB Cup Draft with teams and pairings.
