COLUMBUS, OH — Joey Curtis announced last month that he will be the 48th player and 21st player to represent Ohio in the 2010 Carl Spackler Open Championship, slated for April 15 in Laguna Vista, TX. Naturally, a few members of the Carl Spackler Open accompanied Curstis to his press conference.

Curtis has a sketchy and unknown past as he signs during the eleventh-hour. "Curtis has been telling me about his attendance for nearly six years," says senior member Matt Pritchard. "It comes as a shock that he has decided on Texas and not Indiana or Michigan."

Jason Ridgeway followed by reading a statment prepared by himself. "Mentally, Curtis's the weakest golfer I've seen in the Columbus area. His smile says, 'If you suck at golf as badly as I do, you just hide behind sunglasses and a nice Ashworth golf shirt."

Curtis is a solid 'D player' with a solid +27.3 stroke handicap. He has managed to keep his scores under 130 strokes and even has experienced the low 100's.

Pritchard was asked what he recommends for Joey in his rookie year. "Keeping his door locked is a primary concern," said Pritchard of the rookie hazing. "Play your game and let the field come to you on the Leaderboard is also important."

Curtis was introduced to the Carl Spackler Open in 2004 by senior member John McAninch. He is expected to receive 1 point for triple-bogey, 4 points for bogey, and 6 points for par.

The 2010 Carl Spackler Open Championship will begin its annual practice round in one week. Joey Curtis is 1 of 51 participants with a chance at Championship Glory.
