Rookie Harvey Files

COLUMBUS, OH — Rob Harvey of Columbus, OH has signed a national letter-of-intent to play golf at the 2008 Carl Spackler Open Championship, Dave Osborne announced today. The rookie, a.k.a. Harv, will join the field as the 59th player.

The Harvey handicap is still unknown, but he is expected to have a single-digit handicap that gives him 4 points for par. He also enters the tournament with a very strong iron play. "Harv is not your average player from what I hear," says Osborne. "If he can keep the ball in play off the tee, Harv can position himself for par on most holes. That can be gut wrenching for the rest of the field."

Osborne added, "Harv likes to belt the ball and his go for broke style sometimes gets him in trouble on the course. I have seen him pull off some remarkable shots because he has game, but I have also seen him hit some ill-advised shots as well - he paid the price." Harvey joins the tournament field and lead the efforts for chewing tobacco. He is expected to hold an international taste taste during the practice round.

Matt Pritchard commented, "I am excited to be around such a player as Harvey; he has a great deal of talent and excitement for the game of golf. I suspect he will have a successful career at Open Championship. I hope he asks himself why? Why did not sign two years ago?"

When Harvey was reached for comment, he dumped some trash. "I'm just as excited about my rookie year. I play golf and now trying to get accustomed to Spackler tournament golf. I think I should be considered a strong contender in the tournament," says Harvey. "It takes a smart person to understand the swing plane, but an engineer to engineer it. Something the field of players wish they had in their Easter baskets. I really can't wait until June."

The 2008 Carl Spackler Open begins play in 58 days. The business office begins more detailed planning today. The office will start the process of ordering apparel, making reservations, organizing activities, setting roommates, pairings, teams, and collecting money.
