Lee Signs Late

GREENVILLE, NC — Lee Spruill will be spruilling-around for the 2005 Carl Spackler Open Championship at Mountain Valley Golf Course in Barnesville, PA, CFO Rick Dosky announced today. Spruill, a second-year member, was very excited to be a part of a well-respected championship and such a talented field.

"It?s an honor and a privilege to be invited once again to a tournament with as much prestige and with one that carries such an incredibly talented field as this one. I?m really looking forward to the challenge of playing in a major tournament, and to be truthful, this is my favorite of all the majors. It would mean something special to me to play well in it, especially in front of Mr. Spackler himself," said Spruill.

"This guy has all the tools," says Don Creighton of the Captains Club.  "He?s a guy coming to the tournament that everyone will be watching, because they know that he can contend for the title immediately. I wouldn?t be a bit surprised to see him finish in the top five."

"Definitely a contender," added Billy Smalls. "He?s strong with the flat stick, and good with the irons, the wedges, and the driver. He doesn?t have one weakness in his game. The only thing missing is multiple major tournament experiences, and he?ll unquestionably get that this year."

Lee Spruill signs as the 67th player and the 5th player from North Carolina.  The first round of play is scheduled to begin in 116 days.
