We are looking for golfers who own phones with data plans.
We are moving the hole-by-hole golf tournament scoring from paper scorecard to Internet scoring and believe it will take 3 years to fully implement.
The advantages include (1) live leaderboard scoring, (2) elimination of redundant entering of scorecards (paper and website), elimination of 5's that look like 6's (handwriting issues), and the need to print/write scorecards with golfer names.
We created a separate mobile application for entering scores while playing golf. It was tested with success at Mountain Valley in June 2011. The application looks and acts nothing like the existing website. It is built for handheld screens and handheld users. The application knows your pairing and hole number and asks only for scores for each hole.
We are not looking to force people off paper scorecards, but looking for people wanting to help us move towards paperless real-time scoring system.
