Cooks Creek Invitational

May 12, 2005

COLUMBUS, OH — Patrick McElroy, who has not played in the On Tour Championship in over two years, has signed to play in the 2nd Cooks Creek Invitational on Saturday.  His last round was played at Blacklick Woods in April 2003.

McElroy played in the 2004 Carl Spackler Open in Winston-Salem placing 24th.  He opened the tournament with birdie before falling apart down the stretch.

"You're not going to believe this one, but I have my kitchen pass," says an incredibly excited Pat McElroy.  "I am putting aside Thursday night to find my golf clubs."

Another 8 players have signed to play golf on Saturday including rookies Jeff Miller and Marc Long.  Brian Flanagan and Greg Long have signed from the Captains Club and members Tom Fowble, Bill Bateson, Brian Long, and Jason Ridgeway have also signed.  Brent Focht, currently in 19th position, has also signed to play.

"I am very excited to finally play a competitive round of golf this year," says Flanagan.  "I am so rusty and it's mid-May.  That is embarrassing and I have no excuse.  This will be good for me in my tournament preparations in June."

Brian Long is returning after a disasterous 111 at New Albany Links two weeks ago.  Marc Long plans to make a larger statement this week after his 165.  Ridgeway returns after his personal disaster (87 strokes) last week.

In other news, six other members are scheduled to play Mountain Valley on Saturday.
