7th Major Awaits

August 30, 2004

HILLIARD, OH — Greg Garrett, the mystery man from Hilliard, Ohio, signed for a 4th straight year to play Golfapalooza in just 24 days.  This is Garrett's 7th major championship.

Garrett won the Skills Challenge in Winston-Salem, NC back in June and tied for 17th place in the season's first major.  Neither of these can ever replace the final round at Golfapalooza 2003.

"It was the best putt I have ever seen," says Greg Long.  "Downhill for 90 feet, under leaves, a sharp left turn, and an impossible pin placement.  Tiger Woods would be out there for days trying to make that one."

Garrett made the birdie and vaulted his game to another level instantly.  "You have not lived until you see a Greg Garrett fist pump," says Long.  "He was in a zone that may never be reproduced.  That was special."

Garrett has not seen a lot of success overall at his 6 majors.  The closest to glory were 5th place in 2002 and 8th in 2003.

Golfapalooza has signed several players from the Carl Spackler group.  Jason Watson, Brian Flanagan, Greg Garrett, Greg Long, Mike Watkeys, Bill Bateson, Pat Boland, Rick Dosky, and Gus Sokos.  The 2nd major of the season will begin play on September 23rd in Terra Alta, WV.
