First Rookie Signs

November 26, 2004

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA — Jay Glover of Virginia has signed a national letter-of-intent to play golf at the 2005 Carl Spackler Open, Kevin Long, Jr. of the Captains Club announced today.  The rookie will join the field in June for the annual 54-hole tournament.  Glover is the first rookie to sign for the prestigious event.

"Bootsy is not your average player," says Long.  "He doesn?t have that bottom lip and hair pushed back for nothing.  He really can talk a good game and his +10 handicap confirms it."

"I am a great golfer and a individual who will contribute to the success of the Spackler Open," says Glover. "I am excited to be around the group and have a great deal of respect for the tournament. I suspect my focus will be essential at Open."

The Carl Spackler Open is scheduled to begin play in 193 days. Jay Glover is the 3rd player to sign for the 5th annual major championship.
