BUFFALO, NY — CFO Rick Dosky announced Tuesday that Warren High School's Matt Davis (i.e. Pokey) and Mike Trojanowski have signed a national letter of intent to play golf at the 2005 Carl Spackler Open Championship in the summer of 2005 in Barnesville, Pennsylvania.

As Vice President of Outfits and Contests, Davis has a huge part in our major championships including an incredible set of rounds at Tanglewood Park in his 2004 major.  He shot 76 strokes in Round 2 and 101 strokes in Round 3 to ensure everyone keeps scratching their heads.  "Nobody can forget the electrical shower shock in 2003," says Rick Dosky.

On behalf of the Captains Club, Pokey has added 15 contests for 2005 including 6 closest to the pin contests, 6 long drive contests, and 3 long putt contests on Hole #18.

Pokey has also been working to help all players achieve those sometimes impossible kitchen passes and help give back the freedom that the field is looking for.  "I am more excited about this year than any other," says Pokey.  "With the exception of an idiot in Ambridge, PA, the guys are standing strong this year.  It is almost like most of these guys don't even ask for permission anymore."

As co-beersitter, Mike Trojanowski also signs for his 5th major championship in 5 years.  Trojanowski wore the Carl Spackler Outfit in the tournament's inaugural year and then won the Golden Jacket the following year in Williamsburg, VA.  Troj also won the Closest to the Pin Contest in 2002 in complete amazement to the field of players.

All of these awards were quickly removed from memory when Trojanowski took a golf ball to the balls during the 2003 Closest to the Pin Contest.  Troj was on the green measuring shots when Pat McElroy hit a blind shot that hit Troj where it counts.  "I never saw it coming," says Troj.  "I just heard the field laughing as I rolled around in the fetal position."

The Carl Spackler Open is scheduled for June 9-11, 2005 in Barnesville, PA. There are currently 18 players, which includes 4 new rookies. Matt Davis is the 4th player to sign from Pennsylvania. Mike Trojanowski signs as the 2nd player from New York.  Both players are excited for the tournament to return home to their roots.

There are 5 days remaining for players to sign.
