Preferences Due

February 16, 2005

POTTSVILLE, PA — In conjunction with 2005 Carl Spackler Open, the Captains Club will be completing the second phase of group preparation. The deadline for player preferences comes to a close on Monday evening.

For the past 27 days, the business office had taken individual preferences for the golf trip to Pottsville, PA. This included golf partners, roommates, awards dinner, 4-man scramble, practice round, and extra rooms at the River Inn. A player can continue to select preferences using player administration until Monday at 11PM.

"We are happy with the current data," says Jay Dilks, Vice President of SNN.  "We would like to see more guys on the sober driven bus, but we also understand that everyone has the right to get a DUI."

On Tuesday, February 22, the gathered preference data will be analyzed, organized, and specifically structured for June.  Things to consider when selecting your preferences.

1. Use each "Want Details" link for explanations even if you have previously attended a Spackler. 2. Review the online tournament itinerary especially on Thursday morning and Friday. 3. Acknowledge the River Inn is 20 solid minutes (via car) from Mountain Valley. 4. Acknowledge the Maroon's Sports Bar is 5 solid minutes (via car) from the River Inn. 5. Recognize Mountain Valley has 27 different holes.  The practice round is available in 18 or 27. 6. Expect that accommodating all preferences for all players is impossible.  The more information the better. 7. Realize that lack of preferences does not help our office.  It causes many more problems.

"There is a full itinerary scheduled for 96 hours starting June 8," says Tom McCauley, Vice President of Cuisine.  "It includes many activities with options.  Players choosing to not read all provided information online and through emails could be disappointed in June."

The 2005 Carl Spackler Open begins in 112 days at Mountain Valley Golf Course.  A full itinerary is planned including Yeungling Brewery Tour, 4-man scramble, practice round, casino contest, and nascar race.
