Jim Wins Lottery

February 23, 2005

HERNDON, VA — Glenn Hoffert, better known as Jim, has won the 2005 Red Tee Lottery and is now the talk of the town as the early front runner to win his first Golden Jacket.

"Mike Weir has done more than win the Masters," says Hoffert.  "He has given me the best pick in the Red Tee Lottery.  Mike is my good luck charm and he certainly came through."  Jim selected Hole #5 on the Maple course at Mountain Valley.  The downhill Par 5 plays 394 yards with a little woods down the right side.  His selection eliminates a tight drive through trees from the tips.

"Sounds like a little early pressure," says a touchy Hoffert.  "Over-analyzing has been my problem for years, so I will just play my game."

Hoffert was then asked if his normal game would include driver on the short Par 5.  Hoffert became aggravated.  "If a bitch would play driver, you can count on me to hit driver.  My guess is the bitches play driver.  Next question."

Jim was asked about his chances to win his first Golden Jacket.  He replied with a smile, "It would be something special to win.  I have been dreaming of that silk gold wrapped around my body for nearly 3 years.  It would be a pleasure to win."

The Red Tee Lottery completed on February 21.  All 68 players have selected a hole to play from the Red Tees.  The final hole of the Oak course was not available to the field of players.
