TOUCHDOWN!

April 6, 2005

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA — TOUCHDOWN!  Kevin Long, Jr. scores once again.  Not from long putts at Owl's Creek Family Fun Center, but through his tee time and pairing announcements scheduled for May 9.

"It is a very large task," says Long, Vice President of Tee Box.  "There are 41 guys playing both 18 and 27 holes on Wednesday and 68 guys on both Thursday and Friday.  That is a lot of shuffling, but I have it under control."

The pairings are due to the Captains Club on April 25th, where they will be approved or shuffled.  Final shuffling will be complete in early May for the "must anticipated" announcment on May 9.

Tournament pairings are being put together using player preferences from January and rookies being completed first.

"I am very excited about the tournament and my 'starter' role within the Captains Club," says Hevy with a smile and his visor upside down. "I have a lot of fun each year and looking forward to another great year of camaraderie."

Kevin Long then made a plea with the group of 67 players registered for the 5th Open Championship.  "By the way, if anyone is interested in helping with the tournament this year, I would love some help.  We have dual tee and that is a lot going on."

The 2005 Carl Spackler Open begins in just 63 days in Barnesville, PA.
