BUFFALO, NY — The Captains Club believes everyone has a chance to improve including the guy with the Carl Spackler Outfit.  They believe some hackers do not have the time to improve, but some hackers make time.  Regardless, the club believes that just watching someone hack is not the answer.  They decided in 2004 to step in and help the hacker through actions and not words.

"We thought creating the dreadful Carl Spackler Outfit would be enough in 2001," says Matt Davis.  "I thought people would do something about their golf games, but that has not been always the case.  So we really needed to take another step forward."

The club introduced the Pro Aim glasses (www.proaim.com) last year to be awarded to the worst putter in Spackler history.  The player with the least long putt points over a three tournament period.

The glasses are endorsed by golf school teacher Butch Harmon.  ProAim is based on military night vision technology that projects a virtual guidance grid into your field of vision. This grid is the key to the self-coaching power of the glasses.

Rick Dosky was awarded the glasses last year as the worst putter in Spackler history.  He promised to return with a new feel for the greens.  "It definitely helped me on the greens," says Dosky.  "Hopefully, I can dig myself out of this terrible honor."

The second award to be handed out will be done so next week at the Carl Spackler Open.  The golfer who generates the largest slice in the tournament will be awarded the Inside Approach (www.insideapproach.com), which is endorsed by the legendary Jack Nicklaus and Jay Dilks.

Mike Trojanowski has purchased his own Inside Approach and has stunned fellow friend Jay Dilks of Oil City, PA into a strong endorser.  "I played with Troj in steady rain last week with temperatures in the high 40's," says Dilks.  "Let me just say that I have witnessed the most dramatic change in anyone's golf game ever. Troj bought the Inside Approach, a Solase wedge and a 21 degree utility wood and he just shot a 95 with 50 NOOG points. Conditions were brutal so I really think he can post an 82.  Troj is driving the ball dead straight and his utility club is a crisp 200 yards.  Unbelievable what the inside approach has done!"

The Inside Approach is designed to remove the patented "Kevin Long, Jr. over-the-top swing path" and reroute it on the proper swing plane.

The Largest Slice in the tournament will be nominated by the 68 players and the winner will be selected at the Saturday Night Awards Presentation.
