Spackler Rankings Released

May 27, 2008

PERU, IN — The national Carl Spackler Open player rankings were released this week representing career performance. Trent Cooper topped the list with three Top 20 finishes in 3 years. Jason Ridgeway is hot on his tail with three Top 10 finishes in 4 years. Chris Milam and Chris Hays have a strangle hold on this year's Crapper Award with two completed tournaments outside the Top 40.

The criteria for making the career rankings list is at least 3 years of attendance including this year. Jon Marti, Chris Milam, Chris Hays, and Matt Boland have registered for their third tournament.

Pat Boland, legend Rick Dosky, and shocker Scott Miller round out the Top 5 to ever pick up a club in the prestigious event.

The rankings are calculated using final position on the leaderboard for each golfer. That position or number is converted into a percentage based on tournament field size. These leaderboard positions are averaged over a career with the each tournament getting an slight edge over its previous tournament.

"We have two dog fights this year," said Mike Davis. "A run for the roses and a run for the crapper."

The 2006 Crapper Award Winner, Matt Pritchard, is not safe either. He is bubbling just above Matt Boland. "There is nobody really safe unless you are in the Top 20," says Gumby. "The list presently includes 38 attending golfers."

There are 9 senior golfers who have skipped the 2008 tournament.

The largest surprise on the list is Scott Miller of Parkersburg, WV. His ability to perform at the Carl Spackler Open has baffled many. "I am personally going to grab an eye on his game this June," says Pat Boland. "He is slowly creaping upward and poised for a shocker."

Miller has two Top 10 finishes including Michigan and Ohio.

The highest number of career points takes home the Ty Webb Award each year at the Awards Presentation. The lowest number grabs the Crapper Award.

The Career Rankings List includes Indiana attendees with 2 years of prior attendance. There are 9 past attendees with at least three tournaments not attending the 2008 Carl Spackler Open Championship.
