Eagle Lands at New Kent

July 18, 2006

WILLIAMSBURG, VA — Scott Zavinski is still in 2nd place, but taking it up a notch. Zavinski carded the 12th non-par 5 eagle in Spackler history yesterday at Royal New Kent just southeast of Richmond, VA.

The eagle was good for 14 points and came after a magnificient approach to the ninth hole. The eagle helped his cause as the round bubbled to a career high 60 points.

"Fairly good round; great 9th," said Zavinski after his round on Monday. "The number of bogeys on my card is not ideal."

The Spackler eagle is the first since May when Jason Ridgeway carded an eagle at Thornapple Country Club. It was the first non-par 5 eagle since Chuck Long, Sr. in March. Zavinski's last eagle rewarded him a hole-in-one back in November 2004. A complete list of eagles can be found on the website under "VIRTUAL TOURNAMENT".

Scott continues to hold second position in the 2006 Virtual Tournament with 46.6 points per round. He 2.1 points per round behind Chad Long, who has led the season-long tournament for 8 days.
