JACKSON, MI — The Vice President Contests, Matt Davis has announced another green hat along with a horses ass have signed to play golf at the 2007 Carl Spackler Open Championship.

Jon Munkgard is the 3rd Carl Spackler to sign and follows the signings of Tom McCauley (2002) and Jay Glover (2006). All three players have worn the Carl Spackler Outfit with pride.

Jon returns for his 5th major and 5th consecutive sponsorship from Captain Morgan. He discarded all reminders of 2003 debacle that dressed him up as Carl Spackler. He became the first player to withdraw from an Open due to a lack of one of the seven human senses. Jon lost his sight after drinking an entire bottle of Captains Morgan and racking up 83 strokes inside the first 17 holes of Round 3.

"This is my chance to show everyone my talents on big wide fairways," said Munkgard in a written statement. "There is no other place that I would like to be in June."

Along with Munksgard, Davis also announced the signing of Chad Long to his 5th straight major championship. As the 3rd Long to sign, Chad was awarded the 2004 Horses Ass and 2005 Webb Award as the best player in Spackler history.

As far as the Horses Ass Award, Glenn Hoffert tells the story well. "We were on Hole 4," said Hoffert from memory. "Chad was about 120 yards out and looking for his 9-iron. He looked in his bag, while complaining repeatedly. After about 5 minutes, he wanted to drive backwards through the course looking for the club." Chad was reportedly seen and heard asking every player in the field as he continued to get more frustrated with each foursome he passed.

"Are you sure it is not in your bag," said playing partner Andy Cohen. "I asked him because he was drunk and usually acts stupid." After tracking backwards through the entire front nine, Chad returned to his ball without the club. "I will just hit the wedge," said Chad as he went to his bag for the club.

"That was the moment I will never forget," said Hoffert. "He went into the golf bag and found his 9-iron. His grin was priceless."

The second nomination was done by legend Steve Hoden. "We were on the tee box of Hole 6 during the final round," said Hoden. "We were waiting for the group in the fairway for a bit as Chad continued to drink. After the guys moved out of the way, most of us hit our tee shots. We drove away towards our second shots."

The group approached their second shots, Chad exclaimed, "Where is my ball?" The guys said they did not know. Chad then dumb-foundedly said, "Did I ever tee up?" The rest of the guys thought for a second and began laughing uncontrollably. "I was pretty hilarous," said Hoden. "I have never even heard of something so hilarous."

Munksgard signs as the 15th player. Chad Long signs as the 16th player and 7th player from highly represented Ohio. Round 1 play for the major championship begins in 5 months.
