WARREN, PA — The Carl Spackler golf program announced today the signing of Richard Myers to a National Letter of Intent.  Myers will be eligible to play in the 2004 major. Myers, a native of Warren, Pennsylvania registered a few months ago when he heard about the wonderful 4-day weekend from his son Jamie Myers.  "I have been hearing rumors about this trip", said Richard Myers.  "If the rumors are half true, I want to be there.  Let the onslaught begin."

His son made the statement on the behalf of the Captains Club.  "We are excited to have Dick join our golf program. He has had a very successful career on the state and national level and his hard work and determination on the golf course will be a great addition to the group."

Matt Davis asked Jamie to step aside with as he had additional praise.  "I see this guy as being able to come in and make an immediate impact.  He is an outstanding older man and comes from my roots. My father has also signed as an excellent student and a tremendous player and now he has some competition. We are extremely happy to have both of them as part of the Spackler golf family."

Richard signs as the 36th player to the field.  He is the 11th player to sign and represent the state of Pennsylvania and the 10th rookie.  The major begins on June 10.  The second player payment is due in 30 days.
