Hit it right at the flag, took 3 or 4 hops and hit the pin. I had a tap in for eagle.

Muscaro Pours in 80

RUSSELL, PA — Joe Muscaro poured in 3 birdies over the weekend at Cable Hollow Golf Course just north of downtown Warren, PA. The 10-point birdies racked up a near career high 80 points and enough to break into the Top 10 of the 2010 Virtual Tournament.

"This is what happens when you putt well," says Joe Muscaro. "It might take me the rest of the year to card 3 birdies again. Clearly his most impressive round of the year."

Muscaro shot a 9-over 82 from just over 6,320 yards. The three birdies came in the first 15 holes. A pair of hockey sticks at the 6th and 13th holes were the only disappointments.

Joe's birdies poured in 30 points. They were added to 6 pars and 11 bonus points for golf course difficulty. The 80-point effort was his highest score since August 16, 2007 when he poured in an astonishing 88 points at Jackson Valley Country Club.

"Played really well in some situations," said Muscaro after his round. "I actually should have shot a 2-over 75, but could not putt. I have been playing poorly for about three weeks now, however this round was enough to clearly lead the Carl Spackler Open golf tournament after one round."

Joe Muscaro jumps into a tie for 8th position with 61.0 points per round. Statistics suggest Joe plays really well and then hacks up a course, which does not make his next round very inviting.

In other news, John McAninch has grabbed the lead from Paul Luppino in the 2010 Virtual Tournament. Jason Ridgeway struggled at Darby Creek Golf Course. The 7-year member, Ridgeway, carded just two birdies while hacking up southern Marysville with 5 bogeys, and a double-bogey at the 11th hole. McAninch has consistently scored well throughout the month of May.

Jon Munksgard and Mike Lewis took part in the annual Jimmy Zavinski golf outing last Sunday. Munksgard and Lewis took third place in the alternate shot portion of the 6-6-6 tournament. They also won a skin at 18th hole.
