Colored Stakes & Lines

IGNORE COLORED STAKES and COLORED LINES. When a ball is lost, in the pond/lake, over a road, in a yard, in the woods, in the weeds, up in a tree, lost in fairway, in a creek, or anywhere else that is bad news... you have 3 options...

Option 1: Play a found ball as it lies with no penalty. DO NOT PLAY BALLS ACROSS ROADS OR A PRIVATE HOMEOWNER YARD.

Option 2: Take one penalty stroke and drop a ball (shoulder high) anywhere on the line of the bad shot.

Option 3: Use USGA Rules of Golf.

For example, a golfer hits his tee shot into a creek or pond, accepts penalty of one-stroke, and drops a ball (from shoulder high) behind the water on line of crappy shot. He would be hitting his 3rd shot/stroke.
