WEST HAZLETON, PA — The Captains Club announced today that the Comfort Inn in West Hazleton, PA will host the players of the 2011 Carl Spackler Open Championship. The hotel was chosen for price and distance to golf course, but more importantly for its internal bar/restaurant, location to Damon's Sports Bar & Grill, and its neighboring 24-hour Perkins Restaurant.

"We are very pleased with the Comfort Inn and their ability to host our participants inside as many as 50 non-smoking rooms," says Captains Club member Greg Garrett. "The hotel was an easy selection after a very quick tour. The number of rooms and proximity to two bars and two restaurants sealed the deal."

The Comfort Inn has 30 rooms with two queen size beds, microwave, and refrigerator. It also has 20 rooms with one king bed and pull out sofa. The hotel will also provide breakfast, refrigerators, exercise room, microwaves, internet access, daily newspapers, banquet room, full bar, and full service restaurant.

"The golf trip fee includes a deluxe breakfast with notable items such as waffles, eggs, sausage, fruit, and yogart," says Garrett. "The full bar and full service restaurant is also a great efficiency for our players."

Damon's Bar & Grill is located 400 yards west from the hotel. Perkins 24-hour Restaurant shares the parking lot with the Comfort Inn. Timber's Lounge is located inside the hotel. The hotel bar and restaurant provides karoke, live music, beer, liquor, steaks, soups, salads, appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, and various platters.

"The lodging upgrade from 2005 is massive," says Garrett. "Quite frankly, it could be our best hotel yet."

The 2011 Carl Spackler Open Championship will be held at Mountain Valley Golf Course in nearby Barnesville, PA. The 4-day event will begin with its practice round on June 9. There are 70 to 90 participants expect to partake in the 11th annual birthday party.
