WEST HAZLETON, PA — The Captains Club announced last week the participant option details surrounding the Wednesday night lodging at the Comfort Inn. A 5th night in West Hazleton, PA will be offered as part of the March 2011 participant option step-by-step process.

"We will once again offer a 5th night on June 8," says senior member Jon Munksgard. "This is your opportunity to check-in early and get aquainted with the event for a tax-included $29.00 per golfer (double occupancy)."

The 5th night is considered to be a strong option for participants teeing off at 7:45AM EST on Thursday, June 9 as part of the second practice round. "I cannot believe $44 covers a nights lodging, waffle, eggs, sausage, juice, and 18 holes," says Munksgard. "Someone pinch me."

The Comfort Inn is the choice lodging for the Carl Spackler Open. The hotel is located across the street from Penn State Hazleton campus and just east of Interstate 81.

Roommate preferences will also be collected in March 2011, however actual roommates for the 4-night Carl Spackler Open will be heavily dependent on Wednesday night selections.

The optional practice round (played prior to main practice round) will tee in shotgun format starting at 7:45AM. The practice range will open with balls at 7:00AM. The drive from the Comfort Inn to Mountain Valley is 24 minutes. The Comfort Inn will supply breakfast starting at 6:00AM.

The annual participant option process will be available starting Tuesday, March 1 and continue through the entire month of March 2011. Fees associated with selections made will automatically update participant balances. The deadline for all payments to the non-profit Carl Spackler Open, Inc. is Friday, April 15, 2011.

The 2011 Carl Spackler Open Championship will be held at Mountain Valley Golf Course in Barnesville, PA. There are 85 participants signed for the 11th annual event.
