WEST HAZLETON, PA — The 2011 Carl Spackler Open is days away. The hotel, buses, and golf course are ready. Are the players? The Captains Club held a press conference to discuss the important expectations and instructions surrounding the 11th annual event.

"Our golf vacation is planned; however there are responsibilities and instructions for each vacationer," says Vice President of Pairing Sheets, Dave Osborne. "It is more desirable to receive a summary of the Royal Wedding from Trent Cooper than repeat multiple instructions forty times on Thursday. Please read the information supplied regarding the event."

WEDNESDAY NIGHT HOTEL RESERVATIONS

Hotel Check-in - Check-in at the hotel requires a credit card. The room charge is paid, however one credit card will be used for incidentals and damage.

Obtain a Pairing Sheet - There are two Pairing Sheets for Thursday, June 9; one for each round. The pairing sheet for the 7:45AM optional practice round will be available in the hotel lobby for all hotel reservations regardless of whether they are playing golf Thursday morning. These sheets have non-golf related information and should be available in the hotel lobby before 6:00PM on Wednesday, June 8.

Hazleton Nightlife - The top two nightspots in Hazleton, PA (an opinion) bankrupted last fall. Timber's Lounge is located inside the Comfort Inn. Bottlenecks is located 1.5 miles east of the hotel. Damon's Grill is 400 yards west of the hotel.

Breakfast - The Comfort Inn will be serving breakfast on Thursday starting at 6:00AM. It takes a knowledgeable driver 23 minutes to get to the golf course. A golfer who showers by 6:15AM and eats by 6:30AM could arrive for a 7:35 start time with 30 minutes to practice.

Mountain Valley Golf Course is located in Barnesville, PA. The 36-hole course will be the 1st golf facility to host the Carl Spackler Open for a second time. There are 96 golfers expected to participate in the 4-day 54-hole golf tournament.
