WINSTON-SALEM, NC — The 2004 Carl Spacker Open is set for June 10th in Winston-Salem, NC. Carl Spacker released the final pricing on Monday. The tournament funding required by each participant will be $329 due by April 30, 2004. The funding will include golf, entry fee, lodging, beer, prizes and some food.
The Championship Course at Tanglewood Park will host this year?s tournament. "The cost for the 54-hole tournament is extremely affordable", said Rick Dosky. "With group size, anything is possible", said the Chief Financial Officer. The package also includes "endless" range balls each day before play. As Tiger's Eye was ranked 84th in America in 2001, the Captains Club strived to match that type of course with Thunder Hill in 2002. It was has been ranked as Northeast Ohio?s #1 best public golf course. In 2003, Tanglewood Park was ranked the 65th best golf course in America.
The entry fee will be $120 per player, which is non-refundable and reserves you a spot in the talented field of players. The winner?s share has not yet been determined, however $329 or the cost of the tournament will most likely be the total purse. Additional prizes will be awarded including the Golden Jacket, Horses Ass trophy, Kitchen Pass award, Stroke award, Dooty award and the Outfits.
The current lodging will be located at the Village Inn and Conference Center. Each player will be paired with another member of the group and share a room in the conference center.
Deposits for intent to participate must be received by January 2, 2004 to enter this major championship. Official commitments to the tournament will be added to the website field list. Two additional payments will be collected on March 1, 2004 and April 30, 2004.
