WINSTON-SALEM, NC — The clock will not stop and the 4th annual Carl Spackler Open is less than 140 days from Round 1. Kyle Marti, Scott Miller, Don McFarland and Chad Long are some of the players going after their first Golden Jacket and the Championship Trophy. They are players with a chance and are not about to miss a golden opportunity.
"This is the big one", said Scott Miller. "There are not many major championships and this one has a field that is well respected. Garrett, Lashley, Flanagan, McElroy... I have been looking forward to this one for a while."
With winter setting in, the Captains Club has published the course layout online. Each hole can be found on the left side using the navigation bar.
Rick Dosky plans to bring a new swing to the tournament. "My new swing is pretty rusty. If good motions get in the hands of a good player, only good things will happen as a result. I expect great things, but need some work." Dosky plans to practice in preparation for the big one.
As the field of players continues to grow, the course layout will be analyzed and course management will begin. The 54-hole tournament is scheduled to begin after an optional practice round on Wednesday afternoon.
