WINSTON-SALEM, NC — The 2004 Carl Spackler Open, #1 amateur tournament, will open first round play on Thursday, June 10, 2004 and require a minimum of four full kitchen passes. The field promises to be a group of top amateurs in the golfing world and costs $329. The tournament will be hosted in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Don Creighton, Vice-President of Player Discipline released a quick statement for the Captain?s Club, "It is important to make sure your full payment is not sent by May 1, but received by the Club. Our tournament will be a great opportunity and will not be free. Help me help Rick Dosky collect the $13,000+ in an organized manner."
The Open is coming. With only 133 days left until the Open begins, all eyes are beginning to turn to whether players will allocate the required kitchen passes. This year?s event has been scheduled for June 10?12th, 2004 with a practice round available to participants on June 9. The field is becoming more competitive and the number of potential golfers registered with the website is a greater indication that the 4th annual tournament will be a greater success then the first three.
Jon Munksgard, last year?s Carl Spackler Outfit recipient, was quoted as saying, "I?m looking forward to someone making the same mistakes that I made in the 2003 event by not taking the tournament seriously. I can?t wait to see one of them in either the new Al Cervic Outfit or the Carl Spackler Outfit if not both!" He went on to state, "I?ve been dedicating myself to improving my game and increasing my tolerance to alcohol. I think everyone will be surprised at the results."
