SNN Fills Dream Job
March 24, 2004
BALTIMORE, MD — Pat Summerall. Jim Nantz. Johnny Miller. Ken Venturi. Gary McCord. David Feherty. All of these men are legends in Golf for their excellence in television broadcasting. Now, the Carl Spackler Open Championship and SNN will add another name to that list: Jay Dilks.
"Forget ESPN, this is the real 'Dream Job'", said Dilks. Although he will be the lead anchor for the brightest new golf news network in the business, do not expect Dilks' golf game to suffer. "Make no mistake; I am a contender this year. I fully expect to be interviewing myself as the Champ at the Tournament Dinner on Saturday night."
Jeremy Myers, CEO and former Al Czervic winner, had this to say upon hearing Mr. 300 Yard Drive?s comments: "Dilksy is the most focused person in golf right now. He?s already VP of Planned Parenthood, and now he has the most coveted job in golf, anchorman for SNN. He?s been preparing for golf the same way this year after being criticized for lack of intensity last year. I wouldn?t be surprised to see him pull off an interview of himself at the end of this year?s tournament."
This news will no doubt crank up the excitement for the Carl Spackler Open Championship in Winston-Salem this year. Jay Dilks brings the kind of Hollywood power to the CSOC that the Masters can only dream of. Be sure to tune in Wednesday, June 9th, through Saturday, June 12th to witness the birth of Golf?s newest TV legend.
