WINSTON-SALEM, NC — The Four Man Scramble was a big success with its beginning in 2003, relieving the pressures of a major championship for all the players that took part.  Just ask Greg Garrett, John McAnich, Don McFarland, and Jason Watson, the team that won the event last year.

?We had a great time, and were really surprised that we won with a score of just even par.  It was a great way to relax, smack the ball around and just have some fun with the guys,? said Watson.  ?Yeah, it really was nice not to have to worry about every single shot.  Don?t get me wrong, I wanted to win, but I knew the next guy could pick me up right away,? added Garrett.

The optional scramble event centers around obtaining foursomes based on raw score through the first two rounds of tournament golf.  In this competition, teams shoot for the lowest gross score.  Scheduled for Friday, June 11 this year at 2:30pm, and following 54 holes of the most intense major in golf, the Four Man Scramble provides a rare opportunity for the players to get to know one another better.

?I wasn?t really sure what to think of McFarland and his affinity for the Dolphins at first, but you know what?  I found out that he?s a really great guy.  He definitely knows his way around a pizza menu.? said McAnich.  ?McAnich is pretty laid back and quiet, you never really can tell what he might be thinking during the Spackler.  He loosened up quite a bit during the scramble, though, and gave me a few putting tips I?ll bring along this year,? noted McFarland.  One thing is for sure, this magical chemistry led to their decisive victory.
