BINGHAMTON, NY — The Captains Club announced the included bus service for the 2012 Carl Spackler Open last November. The participant option process to be held in March 2012 will collect information surrounding bus occupancy.

"The tournament registration process, which ended in January, returned 60 to 68 golfers," says Don Creighton. "Our bus reservation from August 2011 includes two buses per day with 88 seats. This plan fits within our event budget, however there is no reason to reserve and pay for an empty bus."

A participant option for bus service will collect a roster for transportation on Thursday, June 7 and Friday, June 8.

"The bus service was not used by everyone last year. We will continue to persuade everyone attending our event to use the bus service, but realize that does not happen. We are in no way persuading individuals not to use provided bus service, but determining whether more than 44 golfers will use the provided bus service."

The bus service includes four rides over the 2-day period between golf course and hotel. The buses are included in the $435 golf trip fee. This roster collection will determine whether a second bus should be cancelled.

The participant option process will be available for golfer selection during the month of March 2012. There are 60 to 68 golfers expected to attend the 12th annual event.
