Awards Presentation Set

April 23, 2012

BINGHAMTON, NY — The Captains Club today announced that the 12th Annual Carl Spackler Open Awards will take place on Saturday, June 9, 2012 in the Grand Ballroom at the Binghamton Riverwalk Hotel & Conference Center in Binghamton, NY.

The decision on the hotel was made during the process of securing the venue. The decision includes an Awards Dinner with both salmon and lasagna.

The best thing about the activity is that the room will not only hold our group, but it will include table service and tons of room. The group is planning on eating there, having few drinks then potentially converging on other entertainment options.

Bar service is included, however drinks outside of water and tea will be an extra charge. "We have secured $2 draft beers at both the Awards Dinner and Presentation," says Captains Club member Jason Watson. "I am picturing a dinner with service equivalent to a wedding reception."

The Presentation will be used to announce winners and losers. The Golden Jacket and Championship Trophy is the gravy. Jay Dilks, the present champion, will assist the new champion with their fitted Golden Jacket.

The Horses Ass Trophy, jackass behavior of the weekend, will be distributed to a golfer. The Carl Spackler Outfit will be worn by the loser. The Noonan Award will be distributed to the rookie scoring the most points. The Skills Challenge Contest will also have another short game master. The Dooty and Stroke Awards will also be awarded to the worst and best putter based on long-putt points.

The 2012 Carl Spackler Open will be held at Conklin Players Club in Conklin, NY. There are between 62 and 64 golfers expected to participate in the 12th annual event. There is a practice round scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
