TERRA ALTA, WV — After a one year break, the tradition of each Loozer wearing the same color shirt Thursday - Saturday will return for Golfapalooza XVI. Founding Father and Apparel Coordinator Butter Flanagan explains.

"We thought it would be a good idea to honor the 14 previous Golfapaloozas by allowing Loozers to wear their favorite shirts on the course during last year's competition," Butter said this morning. "What we found was that while it sounded good in theory, something was lacking out on the course besides the majority of everyone's golf games. We realized that we really enjoyed seeing everyone wearing the same shirt out on the course during the rounds. So for this year, we're moving back to what we used to do. For the Wednesday practice round it will be Loozers Choice as always. Thursday's round will be the yellow shirts from GXIV, Friday will be the green from GXV. Then of course on Saturday we will wear the GXVI shirts. All I know is that I look really good in purple."

Defending MELC champion Randy Watson was asked for his thoughts on the apparel change. "It actually makes it easier to pack when the apparel decision has already been made for me," Randy said. "I couldn't make up my mind last year on which shirts to wear, so I ended up paying for an extra baggage fee when I flew up from TX." When asked how he plans to match his golf shoes to his outfit on Saturday when everyone is wearing purple, Watson replied "you'll just have to wait and see!"

Less than six weeks remain until the GXVI practice round. As of press time, 25 Loozers have signed to attend the annual event. Rumor has it that Whitey is already reviewing lines for his football pool.
