Beverage Prices Rise

SNOWSHOE, WV — On behalf the Captains Club, Greg Long continued to release details surrounding the 13th Major Championship scheduled for June in West Virginia. Long gladly took the responsibility of releasing financials surrounding alcohol and general beverage at Raven Golf Club and surrounding area.

"The beer at golf course will rise above $2.00 for the first time since 2007 and rise to the highest level in 13 years," Long said. "The basic trip fees were the 2nd lowest ever and beverage prices is the gotcha fee. The price per domestic beer will rise by 50 percent to $3.00. We did negotiate a $15 six-pack, which drops the price per beer to $2.50 when purchased in bulk."

The Raven will provide thousands of beverages using beverage carts and clubhouse throughout the week.

"I do not think that I ever bought a beer at a golf course," said a delighted Mogel. "I always buy a six-pack or more. This seems like unimportant increase of $20 for the entire week."

The Raven will also provide lots of non-alcoholic beverages at $2.75.

"The cost of beer will remain stable when leaving the golf course and visiting the Fiddlehead and Village on top of mountain," says Long. "The nightlife details are still unknown, but expecting higher resort prices."

The 2013 Carl Spackler Open registration period ended on January 31. The tournament signed 65 golfers by early February before receiving 5 additional late commitments and accepting 3 of them. The event is now expecting 68 golfers. Participant options are being collected this month. Outstanding balances must be postmarked by April 15, 2013.
