VIRGINIA BEACH, VA — Jay Glover, the 35th ranked player by tournament officials, has signed a national letter-of-intent to attend the 2008 Carl Spackler Open, Captains Club member Rick Dosky announced on Thursday. He will enroll with all intentions of keeping his banana slice in hiding.

A resident of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Jay holds 14th position in the 2007 Virtual Tournament with 64.4 points per round. The high position on the Leaderboard resulted from straighter shots and less penalty strokes.

"I am expecting a lot in my fourth year, which is saying a lot considering my career," says Glover. "I went from last place in after year 2 to the leader in the clubhouse for a while in year 3 finishing in 5th position."

Glover added, "I have been playing on the Nationwide Tour here now for several months, which has improved my game tremendously. I set a personal record in driving with a 342 yard drive and recently won my first tournament and am looking forward to graduating from Q school to the big leagues. That has been huge for me.

I have even started winning enough money to start staying in better hotels and buy better equipment which is helping even more. Not surprising, I was awarded my first hole-in-one three days ago. Now many may say that because all of this is taking place in Tiger Woods Golf 2008 on the Nintendo WII system it isn’t real, but it is real to me."

Glover lost the 2006 Carl Spackler Open Championship in Raleigh, NC. The 54-hole tournament was a mega-tsunami to Glover's confidence and career. Bootsy has since watched the wave of destruction return to the ocean, picked himself up, and hopped back on the saddle. Bootsy now believes the Golden Jacket is just 180 days away. Bootsy joins the tournament field and will represent the state of Virginia. He will attempt to bring home the first Golden Jacket to the state of Virginia.

The 2008 Carl Spackler Open Championship continues to expect 68-72 golfers to sign prior to the December 28 deadline. Rick Dosky's mailbox continues to be very busy. There is a tournament cap set at 68 participants with 42 spots remaining.
