Tournament Player Meeting

May 15, 2008

PERU, IN — A mandatory tournament player's meeting is scheduled for 8:45AM just before Round 1 play in the Rock Hollow clubhouse. The required meeting will take approximately 60 minutes and start immediately after the shuttle bus arrives.

"Our meeting will cover many things," says Chairman Greg Long. "Please be seated prior to 8:45AM as the meeting will last the entire 60 minutes."

"I like the meeting as I get my first glimpse of the Golden Jacket," says Matt Pritchard. "I also come away with full knowledge of the week ahead."

The meeting is a chance for players to get to know one-another, discuss a quick itinerary, provide contest and award explanations, notables such as the bus and awards presentation, chair a rule discussion, and provide player expectations. The daily pairing sheets for Round 1 are expected to be distributed and explained at the meeting.

"There will some gift distribution at the player meeting this year," says Greg Long. "Coolers and sweatshirt distribution will probably be done at another time for efficiency reasons."

The Carl Spackler Open Championship will begin in 19 days. Reportedly, Jon Sabat and Kelly Smith ran into each other in a Warren Kmart trying to buying up the last pocket-size notebook for course notes. Everything appears to be ready for the 2008 major championship.
