Zavinski Making Move

GLEN ALLEN, VA — Scott Zavinski has climbed back into the hunt inside the 2008 Virtual Tournament. The Virginian has grabbed 5th place after stellar rounds this week at Traditions at Stonehouse and Traditions at Crossings.

"There are players up there on the Leaderboard who have not won anything ever," Zavinski said. "I do have experience at winning golf tournaments and looking forward to grabbing the top spot."

Zavinski is coming off a career performance where he scored 78 points and shot a career-low 5-over 76 strokes. "I do not know if experience counts for too much, but I know that I have a great chance to steal the top spot from Creighton."

Zavinski opened the 2008 season with 10 quick rounds averaging 59.9 points per round. He has steadily played better and climbed the season-long tournament Leaderboard one round at a time. He presently holds 5th position with 64.3 points per round.

"He is playing his best golf ever," says Joe Butkus. "He needs to start giving me two strokes per side."

Zavinski boasts a 10.3 stroke handicap. He is less than a stroke from being mentioned as a single-digit handicap. Scott posted his 76th round of the season this week with 194 days remaining in the Virtual Tournament.

In other news, Captains Club member Jason Watson will play international golf today. The Texan made a business trip to Canada this week and is scheduled to play today at Kelowna Springs Golf Club in British Columbia.
