AMHERST, VA — The 2009 Virtual Tournament is taking a major back seat this week to the 2009 Carl Spackler Open Championship. There are 88 participants of the season-long tournament registered and competing for the Golden Jacket and the Carl Spackler Outfit in Virginia.

The tournament scoring can be found at www.carlspackleropen.com.

"Little to zero scorecards this week," says Captains Club member Kevin Long, Jr. "The guys plan to return in a few weeks with plenty of Virtual Tournament fire. For now, it is a big party at our National Championship."

The season-long tournament has 62 golfers on the Leaderboard with Mike Lewis out in front of everyone with 69.3 points per round. Trent Cooper is in last place with 44.0 points per round.

Golfers return on Sunday with probably no high volume of scorecard entries until a week after the US Open.

The Virtual Tournament is nearly half complete with a long hot summer just starting. The Captains Club is expecting 70 or more golfers on the Leaderboard by years end.
