Ramada Inn Choice Hotel

March 15, 2014

MOUNT STERLING, KY — The Captains Club announced today that the Ramada Inn in Mount Sterling, KY will host the players of the 2014 Carl Spackler Open. The hotel was chosen for value, but more importantly for its locale and attached banquet facility.

"We are happy with the Ramada Inn and its ability to host potentially 100 golfers inside 50 non-smoking rooms," says Captains Club member Tom McCauley. "Everyone that knows me knows that I should not be driving a vehicle anywhere. The Ramada Inn is walking distance to closest nightlife and 500 yards from the clubhouse."

The Ramada Inn has an indoor pool and spa. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available. The hotel offers a large backyard for a potential cornhole tournament.

"The hotel is nothing special," says McCauley. "It is probably too nice for an ex-greenskeeper like me, but it is always nice to live a little."

The hotel serves a complimentary continental breakfast each morning. "Expecting biscuits, fruit, juices, yogart, cereal, milk, coffee, and breads each morning", says McCauley.

The Ramada Inn is located just off Interstate 64. Applebees, Cracker Barrel, Legends Sports Bar, Old Silo clubhouse, and Cattlemen's Roadhouse are a short walk from the hotel.

"The hotel has a large banquet room attached," says McCauley. "This will steamline the Awards Dinner and Awards Presentation on Sunday."

The golf event has secured 36 rooms with two double beds. A participant option for Tuesday night lodging was offered in February-March 2014.

The 2014 Carl Spackler Open will be played at Old Silo Golf Club. The entire event will be managed within a 1 mile radius. The 4-day event will begin with its practice round on Wednesday, May 14. There are 64 to 68 participants expected for the 14th annual golf tournament.
