GALLOWAY, OH — Mark Wray is moving up the On Tour Leaderboard faster than brown through Heavy Joe?s white pants on a golf course.  Wray?s latest scorecard entry, a 4-over par, 64 point performance, replaced his abysmal 24 point effort at the beginning of the year, allowing him to rocket up the Leaderboard from 12th into a tie for 2nd place with Ravinder ?Ravi? Bakshi.

?This guy came out of nowhere, nobody knows who he is.  He?s got the rest of the field talking, and quite frankly, just a little shaken up,? said Bakshi.  ?I don?t think I can hold him off anymore, and I feel like I?m playing pretty good golf.  He?s just red hot right now.?

Indeed, Wray has simply been on a tear since late August, as he?s also recorded a 2-over par 74 for 67 points on August 22nd at Thorn Apple, and a 2-over par 74 for 60 points on September 15th at Valley View.  Combined with his last scorecard, Wray averaged a blistering 63.7 points per round over his last 3 scorecard entries.

Perhaps setting up an excuse for next year?s Carl Spackler Open, Wray had this to say about his newfound success: ?I?m traditionally a very slow starter and it usually takes a few months to find my game.  I usually dial it in a little earlier in the summer, but I?m hoping to get a few more rounds in next month and who knows, maybe I can still win this thing yet.?

As of September 30th, Tom Fowble is still the leader with 52.7 points per round, followed by Wray and Bakshi in second with 49.7 each.  The race is very tight from there through sixth place, with Jean Dore in fourth with 49.5 points per round, Mike Trojanowski in fifth at 49.1, and Nick Casale in sixth with 49.0.  Greg Garrett, Mike Davis, Don Creighton, and Jay Dilks, all Captain?s Club Members, round out the top ten.
