ONSTED, MI — After many months of getting Bushwood in shape for the summer, Carl Spackler has obviously begun roaming the eastern United States looking at the top venue opportunities for 2007.

There were confirmed reports of Carl Spackler sipping cocktails with girls on Whamplers Lake near Onsted, MI. Tom McCauley, the 2002 Carl Spackler, was called in to get more information on the rumor.

"Carl was indeed spotted at Jerry's Pub on a little summer vacation," said McCauley. "I spoke with a few locals, the bartender and a couple of waitresses. He spent a few hours at the outdoor tiki bar while telling some chicks and I about the Lama."

McCauley continued, "There is no cause for alarm or venue assumptions. According to information retained from locals, Carl Spackler spent a lot of time at the Michigan International Speedway including the Michigan 400, which just happens to reside 2 miles from Jerry's Pub."

When Carl was asked by the bartender if he had a chance to visit the Legacy and nearby Grande, he reportedly said, "Are you drunk? Of course I played both this week. No gophers. No judges. These are the type of courses that make our tournament shine."

The report concluded with, "Wherever Carl is right now is not important. Carl is just a figure head for the best tournament in America."

McCauley added, "As soon as Carl has worked out a tournament course with the Captains Club, I'm sure that the will come forward with the information."

Next year's event has been scheduled for June 7th with a practice round available to participants on June 6th. The field is becoming more competitive and the number of potential golfers registered with the website is a greater indication that the 7th annual tournament will be the best ever.

Tom McCauley, the 2002 Carl Spackler Outfit recipient, was asked about his take on next year. He exclaimed, "I'm looking forward to the next class of rookies. Seeing them make the same mistakes that I made in the Williamsburg event by not taking the tournament seriously. I love the outfits and the fear factor."

McCauley continued, "Its nice to be able to look at the great strides the event has made and get excited about the future. I think that I have been working on so many of the issues related to the competition, like Surinder Punia failing to register a single round of golf since 2005, that I can occasionally forget what an excellent event this truly is."

The major championship expects a venue announcement in 35 days. Tournament invitations to be available in 80 days.
