TERRA ALTA, WV — Bill Bateson became the first rookie to sign for the 8th annual Golfapalooza tournament. Brian Flanagan recaps the recruitment of Bateson.

"Bill lives in my neighborhood," says Flanagan.  "He is just down the street and a major player in our poker games for a few years. Bill is really sick of the Golfapalooza stories and finally decided to show up because he didn't believe this stuff is happening. The fact that he is friends with Slick sealed the deal for him attending."

Bateson is no stranger to tournament golf, having played in the 2003 Carl Spackler Open. He has some big tournament experience, but how will Bill handle the ceremonial Jager shots on the first tee and the pine cones in the zippers at the 18th green? Time will tell.

Golfapalooza is scheduled to begin in 8 days in Terra Alta, WV.  A field of 24 players are scheduled to attend including Pat Boland, Greg Long, Brian Flanagan, Rick Dosky, Greg Garrett, Gus Sokos, Mike Watkeys, and Jason Watson.
