WESTERVILLE, OH — Jeff Quackenbush announced Tuesday that due to injuries to his right knee that have not fully healed, he would potentially miss the 2011 Golfapalooza event.

"Unfortunately, I've been advised by my physician that I should not play in GXV," Quack said. "I am only going to come back when I'm 100 percent ready. I do not want to risk further injury. That's different for me, but I'm being smarter this time. I'm very disappointed and want to express my regrets to the Golfapalooza fans."

Frankenberry personally contacted GStan, chief executive of the event, to explain why he may not be able to play.

In May, Quack was diagnosed with a complete tear to the ACL in his right knee and a minor tear in his meniscus, both of which he suffered while hitting a second shot from under Butter's mom. He was unable to play in the Carl Spacker Open and withdrew after nine holes in the first round at the Westerville Baseball Scramble after reinjuring his leg on the opening tee shot.

"In hindsight, I probably shouldn't have banged Butter's mom, but it's a big event, and I wanted to be there to support the tour," Blackbush said. "I've got to learn from what I did there and do it right this time and not come back until I'm ready.  That being said, I will be hitting the range wearing a brace over the next few weeks, and will be aggressive with rehab between now and September 28.  I think my best years are still ahead of me, and I'm very confident and optimistic about the future."

Walt Schoellmann's attendance probably hinges on Frankenbush's health as well, but he's optimistic that Quack will be healthy and ready to go by the time of the event.  "He's desperately trying to find his way back to the course, but if he doesn't attend, it opens the door for Boland to finally compete for a trophy," Schoellmann commented.

Regardless of his attendance, Quackenbush stated, "the DeQuackathon and the 100-feet contest will take place regardless of my attendance, but I will do everything in my power to be in Terra Alta for GXV."
