Inn to Host Open
January 8, 2013
SNOWSHOE, WV — The Captains Club announced today that the Inn at Snowshoe Resort in the village of Snowshoe, WV will host the players of the 2013 Carl Spackler Open. The hotel was chosen for value, but more importantly for its locale.
"We are happy with the Inn and its ability to host potentially 100 golfers inside 50 non-smoking rooms," says Captains Club member Tom McCauley. "Everyone that knows me knows that I should not be driving a vehicle anywhere. The Inn is walking distance to closest nightlife and 250 yards from the 5th hole."
The Inn has an indoor pool and multiple spa tubs. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available in public areas. The hotel offers a large backyard for a potential cornhole tournament.
"The hotel looks and feels like a Comfort Inn," says McCauley. "It is probably too nice for an ex-greenskeeper like me, but it is always nice to live a little."
The hotel serves a complimentary full breakfast each morning. "Expecting scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage, bacon, gravy, biscuits, fruit, juices, yogart, cereal, milk, coffee, and breads each morning", says McCauley.
"We were very satisified to have acquired a banquet room inside the Inn," says McCauley. "This will steamline the Awards Dinner and Awards Presentation on Sunday."
The golf event has secured 50 rooms with two double beds. A participant option for Tuesday night lodging will be offered in March 2013.
The 2013 Carl Spackler Open will be played at the Raven at Snowshoe Resort. The entire event will be managed within a 1 mile radius. The 4-day event will begin with its practice round on Thursday, June 6. There are 48 to 60 participants expected for the 13th annual golf tournament.
