MARSHALL, MI — The Captains Club, the driving force behind the upcoming Carl Spackler Open, has just announced the launch of the third wave of participant options, effective May 1st. This phase encompasses vital elements such as confirming golf rules, enrolling in mobile scoring, arranging bag storage, collecting a roster of GHIN account holders, and finalizing transportation arrangements for what promises to be a highlight on the golfing calendar.

"This latest set of participant options underscores the collective adherence to our golfing regulations," stated Chris Price, a member of the Captains Club. "These aspects are paramount in ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all participants throughout the tournament."

The Carl Spackler Open adheres to six fundamental golfing rules: White Stakes, Red Stakes, Lost Ball, Longest Putt, Drop Zone, and Touching Ball. However, for the 2024 event, the number of basic rules is streamlined to five, with Jason Ridgeway of the Captains Club explaining, "The Medalist Golf Club doesn't feature drop zones. Instead, the focus shifts prominently to the White Stake rule, given the abundance of white stakes across the course, immediately noticeable from the first tee."

The third phase of participant options will also involve recruiting volunteers to facilitate mobile scoring for the 72-hole tournament. "We require a scorer in each pairing throughout the event," remarked Chad Long. "These scoring volunteers play a crucial role and will be duly recognized in the 2025 Roster Worksheet."

Furthermore, participants will be introduced to, instructed on, and ensured connectivity with the Carl Spackler Open mobile website. "Our dedicated mobile platform offers real-time scoring and event updates accessible on smartphones," added Long. "Participants can sign in via m.poststats.com using the same credentials as the main website, ensuring seamless integration."

In addition, the Captains Club is coordinating bag storage arrangements for up to 64 golf bags, as confirmed by Captains Club member Marty Whalen. "Space is limited, and a roster is being compiled for this purpose," said Whalen.

The Captains Club is also compiling a list of participants with GHIN accounts registered with the USGA.

Moreover, the third set of participant options aims to streamline transportation logistics for the 84 individuals traveling to the event location. With golf rounds scheduled at varying times, effective planning allows for optimized carpooling opportunities. "Given the diverse start and finish times of the rounds, spanning up to two hours apart, coordinating transportation is essential," explained Jason Ridgeway. "Sharing flight and ground transportation details among participants will not only cut costs but also reduce unnecessary trips to the airport."

As the countdown to the 2024 Carl Spackler Open continues, organizers remain dedicated to meticulously planning every aspect to ensure an unforgettable experience for all involved. The third set of participant options will be open from May 1st to May 22nd, heightening excitement among golf enthusiasts eagerly anticipating the opportunity to customize their experience for this highly anticipated tournament.
