Tournament Rules

July 8, 2001

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC — The United States Golf Association (USGA) has served as the national governing body of golf since its formation in 1894. It is a non-profit organization run by golfers for the benefit Carl Spackler and his golfers.  In conjunction with Carl, the USGA remains committed to promoting policies and programs "For The Good of The Game."

It is very important to play golf correctly to make the Carl Spackler Open tournaments as great as they can be.  There are a few rules that Carl Spackler wants make note of to assure that everyone is aware of strict rules that will be used in tournament play.

The "Long Putt" rule effects only the official Open Championship.  The "slope" rule effects the Spring and Summer Open Championships.

Here is the summary of some principal rules of the Carl Spackler Open.  In case of doubt, refer to the complete Rules published by the United States Golf Association at www.usga.com.
