March 27, 2002
WILLIAMSBURG, VA — The Captains Club held a press conference on Tuesday to announce several items of interest for the field of players and fans around the world. Items of interest included projected course condition, tournament funding and practice round information.
The first bit of news was announced by Captains Club member Jason Watson. "The club has been in contact with The Colonial Golf Club for the past few days. Specifically, we have been acquiring information on golf course condition." Jason added, "The turf team has aerated the greens this week and says the course will be in excellent shape in one month." There was speculative information that the course would possibly be aerated late, but things are looking wonderful for the championship.
The second set of news came from the Chief Financial Officer. Rick Dosky announced as of April 25, 2002, all funding had been received. "I am grateful that everyone has stepped up to the plate and sent their checks on time. This really makes my job easy."

The times allocated were 9:00AM, 9:11AM and 9:22AM respectively. The cost for these rounds will be $46.75 per player.
