Pairings & Points Released

September 14, 2006

TERRA ALTA, WV — The pairings and point distribution for Golfapalooza X will be released tommorrow with internal wagers starting shortly after. Stacey Bartlett is expected to receive a record-high set of points and was asked to relay the announcement.

"On behalf of GStan, I would like to release the first round pairings," said Bartlett during a cell phone call with the media. "GStan is too busy for Golfapalooza right now and asked that I fill in."

Bartlett paused for a minute to count his career winnings. Then opened with, "I have seen the pairings and ready to provide a game plan for my two rookie teammates," said a confident Bartlett. "My swing has less rolling of the wrists this year. Things are a lot less left, which has proved positive on the practice ranges. I hope these rookies can putt."

Stacey indicated on the record that he plans to hold a morning omelet clinic for interested folk. "All talents should not be horded," said Bartlett. "This includes JT's cornhole talent and Todd's ability to push his ball into a power fade. Both guys are wonderful talents."

Bartlett also noted, "The cheaters... I mean winners of last year's 4-man Best Ball are expected to defend next week." He is referring to Brent Kaniecki, Greg Garrett, Stan Kaniecki and "close stance" Rick Dosky.

Stacey also communicated the deadline for posting scorecards. "Scorecards through Tuesday will be accepted and used for handicapping this great event," said Bartlett. "I encourage everyone to get out and play golf this weekend."

The new upgraded point system will be available starting Friday. The point system has been elevated with a target of 60 points. Jeff Blankenburg, Pat Boland, Stan Kaniecki and Greg Long have targets of 62-64 points to offset the "room for improvement" scale.

Golfapalooza X begins with a practice round on Wednesday. Round 1 begins at high noon at Alpine Lake Resort.
