SUMMERHILL, PA — The Captains Club has announced the signing of Chuck Long, Sr. of Summerhill, PA to a letter of intent for the 2005 Carl Spackler Open. Chuck is the 22nd rookie and is the 18th player to represent Pennsylvania for the 54 hole golf tournament.

"We are really proud to recruit such a quality man as Charlie," Jamie Myers said. "He?s a very seasoned veteran of high calibre amateur golf and also golf league competition. Being part of such a great field should be a big asset coming in because we have very high goals at our major championship."

Myers continued, "We?ve been impressed with Charlie's sound fundamental golf swing. He really puts his game on display with great shots all the time. In addition, he?s got a very good short game with a nice putting touch and his course management is also the best I've seen in years."

The 2005 Carl Spackler Open begins in 129 days at Mountain Valley Golf Course.  The tournament is scheduled to be played in a 54-hole format using NOOG points.
