GALLOWAY, OH — The oldest member of the field exited the tournament last week as quietly as possible says a report out of the business office. The same report indicated rookie Brad Carder was paid and patiently waiting for the first cancellation.

"Sorry gents. It is with great regret that I have to withdraw from this year Carl Spackler Open," said Jerry Long in his written statement. "There are a number of personal issues brewing that will keep me tied up in June this year."

Long becomes the second casuality of the 2008 Carl Spackler Open Championship. He joins John Dick. The surprise comes after Jerry-stock just increased this year after several practice rounds from sunny Florida.

Brad Carder joins the Open Championship with two year's of Golfapalooza experience. He enters the Indiana event after scoring 75.4 points per round in the 2007 Virtual Tournament.

Carder is best known for his ability to switch hit. Brad will play the tournament with seven right handed clubs and six left handed clubs. "There is no way," said Jean Dore of Virginia Beach. "That is impossible."

Carder presently boasts a 37.8 stroke handicap. He placed 10th in September at Golfapalooza XI. The tournament shakeup keeps the tournament field at 68," says tournament coordinator and Captains Club member Jeremy Myers. "I do not think we are done yet with cancellations. We still have $13,500+ unaccounted for as far as remaining balances. I think we may have a few this year."

In other news, there are three more paid rookies on the waiting list. The tournament field should contact the business office if they have another golfer. "The hotel is booked with 34 rooms," said Greg Long. "A solution was presented for 72 golfers, which is being discussed."
