Spotting Carl

July 18, 2001

PITTSBURGH, PA — After many months of getting golf courses in shape for the summer, Carl Spackler has been roaming the United States for a 2002 Open location.

As of 3:07PM on Tuesday, there are confirmed reports of Carl Spackler roaming the state of Tennessee for the perfect golf course and perfect April weather.  According to the source, Carl was spotted in Paris, TN, a recreational area 90 minutes west of Nashville.

Spackler was not located for comment, however an Internet scan of Tennessee has indicated there is a special golf course in the back hills.  The Tennessean.

The Spackler Tournament Administration was contacted for comment.  The CEO, Jamie Myers read the following statement, "Carl has been roaming the United States.  There is no cause for assuming the Open will be in any particular state, including Tennessee and South Carolina.  Wherever Carl is right now is not important."  His main objective has been to manage the best tournament for the lowest price.  Myers added, "As soon as Carl has picked a tournament course, I'm sure that the will come forward with the information."
