JAMESTOWN, NY — Mike Trojanowski has declared his intend to play in the 2002 Carl Spackler Open Championship by signing his ?letter of intent? earlier this week.  Troj is the 2001 Spackler Outfit Award Winner, but is excited to shift the Outfit over to someone else in the field.

?There is no way I?m going through that again?, said Troj on Wednesday.  ?I have improved my game to a point where I can bail myself out of a bad situation in 2002.  No one will be taking advantage of Trojanowski this year.?  Troj and Don Creighton battled it out last year to see who would side step the dreaded Spackler Outfit.

It took all 72 holes to decide the no-so coveted outfit.  Troj missed a two-footer last year to lose and take last place in the 2001 Open.  Don escaped with 8th place and his own wardrobe.

The Captain?s Club has one last salute to Trojanowski.  ?Troj will be honored this year with three other players at the 2002 Open?, said CEO, Jamie Myers.  ?Troj will be honored at his tournament tee-off as he will be playing with a special group of players.  The 2001 Champion (Greg Long), the 2001 Tournament Honoree (Kevin Long, Jr.), and this year?s 2002 Tournament Honoree, which has not yet been named.
